Oh this is such a favorite song of mine! I actually was just singing it today while playing the piano! I was sort of grumpy... sort of really grumpy(!!) and often when I'm feeling down, I just have to play the piano and vent all my feelings out. So, that is what I did today and I sang Be Thou My Vision too... I felt much better after I "vented out"! It is such a lovely song.
