Entry 13: "My Struggle Lately"

Hey ya'll,

With the christmas season coming around everyone is getting ready to celebrate the wonderful birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. This year is going to be very different from last christmas because my father was called to Iraq and won't be here for Christmas. He has been gone since early January this year and won't be back till early Feburary next year.

I am so proud of my father for fighting for his country and accepting this hard trial even thought it isn't what he had in mind for 2009. It has been hard on us to live without him and have him gone for so long, but i can have a peace of mind because i know that my dad is in God's hands and that can't get any better.

So anyway i have been down lately and these verses i found have encouraged me a lot! I hope they are able to encourage you in some way also.

Deuterononmy 31: 6
Be strong and courageous. Do not fear of be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will never leave you or forsake you.

Psalm 121: 1
I life up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.

1 Cor. 2: 5
That your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.

I would appreciate prayer for my family and especially my father during this hard time.  Also that he would continue to be safe over there! Thank you all!

God Bless,

I'll be praying hard, for you and your family, this Christmas! I can't imagine what your going through, I just know I wouldn't want to go through it! I love those verses, and you know that I LOVE Psalm 121! I named my blog after it, so I must love it! : )

Praying for you right now, Miranda!

Hi Miranda,
I am praying for you and your family this Christmas and for your dad while he is in Iraq. My life verse is Joshua 1:9. Check it out!

Thank you very much for your kind comments on my blog. And in answer to your question, you are more than welcome to follow my blog if you wish =)
It is so wonderful that you sing too! Praise the Lord for the wonderful opportunity to sing with your church's worship band. That is something that I would love to do, but God has not opened the door for that. However, "I will worship while I'm waiting" right?! Ever since I was very young, I have always had a song in my heart. Taking lessons was a dream come true, and like you, I can't wait to see how the Lord uses me for His glory...

God Bless you richly,

By the way, I forgot to mention this in my comment above. Regarding your dad in Iraq, I would assume he is in the military? If so, have you heard the song I'll Be brave This Christmas ? It's from Big Daddy Weave and I just heard it on the radio. Check it out, I think it will really touch your heart.

In Christ,

Thanks ya'll for your comments! it means a lot to know people are praying out there for my dad! I know he appreciates it also!

Josh, Thanks for the bible verse. I liked it very much! I also love that "while I'm waiting" song a lot!!

Regarding my father, yes he is in the Military and the branch of the Navy. We are all so proud of him!

I haven't heard that song, but i will definitely look it up. Thank you for suggesting it. Since I like music and singing i am always on the lookout for good encouraging songs!

I hope your voice lessongs continue to go well and that you glorify God, in whatever area he has in mind, through them!

God Bless,
